We will spend the day along the river at Meewasin Park learning some essential first aid skills that any paddler should have when they head out. This course is being taught by Rebecca Basset of Back40 Wilderness First Aid (https://www.facebook.com/back40training).
Paddlers often find themselves in remote and inaccessible areas. In the event of an injury or illness while on a paddling trip, we should be prepared with both supplies and strategies to manage a variety of issues ranging from minor to severe; sometimes for an extended period of time. In recognition of some of the more probable illnesses or injuries that paddlers might be faced with, Back40 has designed this Introductory WRFA Course for paddlers specifically.

Note: This session will be held outdoors (weather permitting). A public washroom will be available. Participants do not need to bring their boats/equipment.
